David Wilson retired as a full-time Engineering Director of ERCE in 2014 but continues to have a key role in our Expert work. David is a founder of ERCE. He has over 50 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and has been involved in all aspects from E&P, to academia, to consulting.

He began his career with Mobil and Shell International, working across Canada, Europe and the Arabian Gulf. He has also been a Reader (Associate Professor) with Imperial College, University of London, and a founder of multiple companies including the original ERC Energy Resource Consultants in 1977, Atlantis Holding AS in 1996, and the restart of ERC Energy Resource Consultants in 2003.

David is one of the world’s foremost specialists in reserve evaluation and was integrally involved in the development of UK reserve reporting standards in the 1980s. As a professional who has worked on assets as an owner at E&P companies, who has evaluated assets as a consultant and taught theoretical and practical aspects of oil and gas recovery as a professor, David has developed technical, oratory and advocacy skills which serve him well during his work as an Expert. He has served as an Expert Witness before the High Courts in the UK as recently as 2014 and previously before such institutions as the International Court of Justice in the Hague.

David is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Metals and Mining. He holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh.

Jonathan is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of ERCE. He is a geoscientist by background with extensive experience in new business development, M&A, exploration, appraisal, development and production operations gained over 20+ years at Woodside Energy, Ophir Energy and ERCE.

Jonathan was previously Head of ERCE’s Expert Practice a multi-disciplinary group, capable of performing integrated technical, commercial and economic assessments of issues under dispute in Court or Arbitration proceedings. As Director of Subsurface at Ophir Energy Jonathan was responsible for the delivery of all geoscience, exploration and reservoir management activities across Ophir’s global portfolio.

Jonathan has worked across a diverse range of geological and geographic environments including West, North and East Africa, SE Asia, Australia, and Central America. Jonathan has deep experience of Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements and associated Joint Venture Management activities in a variety of regulatory regimes.  

Dr. Adam Law is a Founding Director of ERCE. Since 1994 he has gained extensive experience both as an operator and as a consultant. Adam worked as a Geoscientist for Amerada Hess and as a Geophysicist for British Gas, prior to joining Equipoise Solutions as a Principal Geoscientist in 2003. Adam served as a Director of Geoscience at ERCE until his appointment as Managing Director in 2016.

Adam has worked in a variety of basins around the world and has been involved in all aspects of geoscience analysis, from frontier exploration to field rehabilitation. In recent years he has led the geological and geophysical evaluation of some of largest discoveries in the world. At ERCE, Adam is a project manager for acquisition and divestment assistance, and also reserves auditing.

Adam is a registered Auditor with the SPEE and certifies reports for a number of stock exchanges as a Competent Person. He holds a PhD in Geophysics from Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Science in Exploration Geophysics from London University. He is also a former Officer of the Geological Society of London and has been a member of the Council of the PESGB. He is currently President of the AAPG Europe Region. He as a visiting lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London.

James is responsible for the Costs and Facilities Group at ERCE. He is heavily involved in project work as a Principal Field Development Engineer and has extensive experience in concept screening, project development, cost engineering and estimation. He coordinates a multidiscipline team including process engineers and economists.

Before joining ERCE in 2017, James has gained a broad range of experience within both engineering design consultancies and exploration companies. He has been involved in license applications, project controls, engineering and cost estimating, for both new and brownfield developments world-wide, therefore has a good understanding of client requirements and aims. At ERCE, James is growing the technical and commercial capability of the Costs and Facilities Group to allow the offering of a complete integrated service from our core sub-surface work to facilities, costs and final valuations.

Kitty Hall is an experienced independent non-executive director following an entrepreneurial career in the exploration service sector.  She has undertaken non-executive director roles since 2007 including service on remuneration, governance, audit and nomination committees.  

As founding CEO she ran two upstream oil service companies over a period of 25 years, one (ARK Geophysics Ltd) owner managed and the other (ARKeX Ltd) private equity backed. These companies acquired, processed and interpreted specialist geophysical data around the globe, and a portfolio of innovative software and hardware was developed. Board experience includes listed seismic, drilling and oil companies Polarcus, Seabird Exploration, Eastern Echo, Sevan Drilling and Aker BP (formerly Det Norske). 

Kitty has a BSc in Geology from Leeds University and an MSc in Stratigraphy from Birkbeck College. She has twice served as Vice President of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain and was made an Honorary Member in 2012. She was the first female Chair of the Petroleum Group of the Geological Society, and was awarded the Petroleum Group Medal in 2019. She has held private forestry interests since 2008 and serves as a trustee for several charities. 

Peter has had a 50-year career as an exploration geologist in the oil and gas sector after graduating in geology from Southampton University in 1965. He first emigrated to Canada and worked for Mobil before transferring to Libya in 1969. After a 3-year break to do a PhD at U.C.L, he returned to Mobil in Indonesia until 1974. He then worked for Premier Oil in London for 2 years before spending the next 20 years co-founding and serving as a director of several oil industry exploration geoscience consultancies and working on projects worldwide. These consultancies included Dolan & Associates Ltd, IKODA, JEBCO and Ikon Science.

In the mid-1990s he was a co-founder and Chairman of Fusion Oil & Gas, which explored off West Africa and was listed on AIM in 2000. When that was taken over, he and others founded Ophir Energy in 2004 which built a portfolio of deepwater acreage offshore Africa, making very significant gas discoveries.

In 2015, Peter was declared Africa Oil Legend 2015, at the annual Africa Upstream Conference in Cape Town in recognition of his contributions to UK and general E&P activity in Sub-Saharan Africa over the last 20 years.

Peter has numerous other oil business interests including being an advisor to both Impact Oil & Gas and AIM-listed investment company Reabold Resources plc. He is also an investor in numerous early-stage private companies, both within and outside the E&P business.

Peter founded the Geological Society’s ‘City of London Geoscience Forum’, and has been a member and Chairman of numerous committees within the Geological Society over the last 30 years. In 2018 he was awarded the Society’s William Smith Medal which recognises the application of geology in commercial settings. He is actively involved with several other professional bodies, as well as local community and charity activities.

Peter Nicol joined the Board of ERCE in September 2018. Mr Nicol has over 30 years of oil and gas experience in both industry and finance. He is currently Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit Committee and Member of the Remuneration Committee of Eco (Atlantic) Oil and Gas Plc and a Non-Executive Director of Touchstone Exploration where he is head of the Reserves Committee and a Member of the Audit Committee. He was previously a partner at GMP Securities Europe and co-head of the London office of Tristone Capital as the Head of Oil and Gas Research and was responsible for initiating coverage for over 60 international E&P companies. Mr. Nicol has also held positions including Global Sector Director of Oil and Gas research at ABN AMRO Bank NV and Head of European Oil and Gas research at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Mr Nicol started his career with British National Oil Corporation in a variety of commercial roles.

Aizat started his career in 2010 as a Petroleum Engineer in PETRONAS, conducting reservoir surveillance for a number of operated and non-operated PETRONAS blocks. In 2013, he joined the Enhanced Oil Recovery Centre (EORC), a joint venture unit between Shell and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. as a Reservoir Engineer. He built and completed the subsurface models utilised for the asset Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) development planning and ultimately delivered the Field Development Plan for a Baram Delta EOR field.

In mid-2015, he joined Sarawak Oil Resource Development within PETRONAS, working on other Baram Delta Operations projects and managed to further increase reserves through a number of infill opportunities. From end of 2017 to March 2021, he was the Reservoir Engineer for PETRONAS Carigali Iraq Holdings B.V. working on a large onshore carbonate field balancing on day-to-day surveillance of more than 80 producing wells and development planning & project execution such as infill drilling opportunities and waterflood project in order to achieve the DPSC objective of meeting the Production Plateau Target (PPT). During his tenure in Iraq, Aizat had consistently delivered value adding production optimisation and reserves addition proposals by integrating various technical and commercial aspects within his proposals.

Aizat has also been heavily involved in Reserves and Resource evaluation on all of the teams he has been a part of. He is a proficient user of various modelling and simulation software with experience in building fit for purpose subsurface models for various purposes such as EOR, water injection and infill drilling. He also has delivered various Field Development Plans ranging from complex EOR projects to infill projects. Having the knowledge and skillsets of delivering projects in an integrated manner allows Aizat to approach problems in an efficient manner ensuring that solutions is tied to the objective of the projects.

Aizat holds a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.

Anna is responsible for the Geology team at ERCE. She is involved in project work across all of ERCE’s offices as a Head Geologist and has extensive experience in portfolio assessment for M&A activities, full field modelling, field development planning, regional exploration and prospectivity. She coordinates a multidiscipline team including geologists, geophysicists and petrophysicists.

Anna joined ERCE in 2007 and has gained significant technical and management experience through the years, working in both the UK and Singapore offices for ERCE. She works effectively with clients and ERCE staff, leading integrated teams across a multitude of project scopes. Her work has given her extensive onshore and offshore experience across the globe throughout Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America.

Anna holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Durham University, a Master’s Degree in Basin Evolution and Dynamics from Royal Holloway University of London, is a Fellow of the Geological Society and is a member of the PESGB.

Outside of work Anna is a keen sportswoman. Having previously played hockey, and competed in cycling, triathlon, swimming, and running events, she can now be found in a CrossFit gym throwing weights around.

Carl has over 25 years of sedimentological and sequence stratigraphic experience working with E&P companies on exploration, development and producing assets.

Carl has collaborated on projects with companies including; Shell, OMV, ConocoPhillips, Murphy, BHP, Soco, Cairn Energy, Inpex, Woodside and ENI, in sedimentary basins ranging from West Africa, India, SE Asia, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand. His expertise lies in a multidisciplinary approach, tying in core-based studies with high-resolution image data and sequence stratigraphic analysis. He has worked both siliciclastic and carbonate systems, with environments of deposition (EOD) ranging from fluvial, estuarine systems, fluvial- and wave-dominated deltaic systems, shallow water pinnacle reef and deep-marine ramp carbonate systems, along with slope- to basin-floor fan turbidites.

Dawn Houliston joined ERCE in 2017. Prior to this, Dawn worked at BP for 9 years, developing significant experience in exploration, appraisal and development projects.  She has offshore operational experience including open and cased hole wireline log witnessing, LWD witnessing and core witnessing. During her time at BP, she garnered an extensive experience of planning data acquisition programmes and providing QC and real-time interpretations of petrophysical data.

Dawn has experience in clastic, carbonate and unconventional reservoirs, including fractured reservoirs, developed from her time at ERCE and BP.  Dawn has experience in rock physics fluid substitution, thin-bed petrophysics, shaly sand petrophysics, low resistivity pay, fractured carbonates as well as challenging mixed lithology reservoirs.

Dawn has an MSci in Geology from Imperial College London, and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Aberdeen University. Dawn is a Chartered Geologist with the Geological Society of London, and is a member of SPWLA and PESGB. Dawn was the first female president of the London Petrophysical Society and remains on the committee as Past President.

George has almost 40 years experience in the oil and gas industry and has a deep understanding of the key issues associated with the full spectrum of E&P activity and M&A opportunities gained from his exposure within operating companies to all aspects of the upstream business. He has broad experience of field development, resource evaluation, exploration, commercial and corporate transactions, and has worked most recently for Tullow Oil in a variety of senior technical and combined technical/managerial positions reporting up to executive level in M&A, New Ventures, and as Chief Petroleum Engineer.

Prior to Tullow he worked in technical and commercial roles for Shell International, Enterprise Oil, and Chevron. George has wide regional experience most recently across Africa and South America, but also including Europe, the Middle East, Gulf of Mexico and North Sea. He has deep reservoir engineering core skills combined with a good understanding of all the other engineering, subsurface, and commercial disciplines, and is a pragmatic cross-discipline integrator with a strong focus on quickly identifying key issues and value adding activity. George currently works in ERCE’s Expert Practice group as a Principal Reservoir Engineer, where he advises clients on oil and gas disputes.

George holds a Bachelor of Science in Offshore Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and is a long-standing member of the SPE.

James is responsible for the Costs and Facilities Group at ERCE. He is heavily involved in project work as a Principal Field Development Engineer and has extensive experience in concept screening, project development, cost engineering and estimation. He coordinates a multidiscipline team including process engineers and economists.

Mike is responsible for the management of the Geophysics Group within ERCE. He coordinates a dynamic and highly technical team, implementing a comprehensive suite of geophysical techniques from pre-stack gather conditioning through to 4D infill target mapping. He has extensive skills in quantitative rock physics, multi-layer depth conversion methods and seismic interpretation which are routinely applied to a multitude of projects worldwide.

He also takes a leading role in a number of our multifaceted audit and subsurface technical projects, integrating datasets from various disciplines to form a comprehensive view on a broad range of subsurface scenarios from prospect identification through to mature field volumetrics.

Michael holds a first class Masters Degree in Geophysics from the University of Leeds and is a member of the EAGE and GESGB.

Mike has 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry having joined ERCE in 2013. He has worked as both a geoscientist and reservoir engineer on a variety of oil and gas audits, M&A due diligence, technical studies and expert witness projects. In 2016, Mike relocated to Singapore to help set up ERCE’s Asia Pacific office and gained valuable international experience working with IOCs and NOCs in locations across the region including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, India, China, Australia and New Zealand. Mike returned to the UK at the end of 2020 and became ERCE’s Head of Engineering in July 2023.

Mike builds strong client relationships and has experience leading large oil and gas audits including Jadestone Energy, Interra Resources and TAG Oil amongst others. He has a strong working knowledge of oil and gas guidelines (PRMS, COGEH) and stock market regulations (LSE AIM, TSX, ASX, SGX).

Mike’s integrated skillset is his strongest asset and allows him to be an efficient project manager. He has experience in static and dynamic modelling in complex fields where integration of multiple datasets are crucial to understanding field performance.

Rhydian is Head of Sales and Marketing at ERCE. A geologist by background, Rhydian began his professional journey by earning a Master’s degree in Petroleum Sedimentology from the University of Reading and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Rhydian’s early career as an oil and gas analyst at Arthur Anderson and Deloitte, Petroleum Services group allowed him to develop a broad skillset in business development as well as understanding commercial markets. Rhydian then moved to Ikon Science in 2010 as a Senior Business Development Manager. 

Rhydian’s foundations have given him a strong insight into the technical skills that are required to underpin company operations and commercial activities. At ERCE, he assists clients in turning complex challenges into solutions by utilising our multi-disciplinary team to add value to portfolios in the petroleum and climate and sustainability sectors. 

As well as his business development role, Rhydian is passionate about the energy sector and is a volunteer for the GESGB Sales and Marketing Special Interest Group and is also an active participant on the PETEX Conference Organisation Committee. 

Susan is responsible for Project and Resource management at ERCE where she also works as a Principal Geologist in projects. Sue has significant experience in operations and asset management, having previous roles as Developments Manager and Development Geology Manager for Engie UK and UK annual reserves report coordinator. Before joining ERCE in 2018, Susan has held roles since 1995 at Schlumberger and BG Group before joining Engie (formerly GDF) in 2005.

She has a B.A. In Geology from Cambridge and a M.S.c in Petroleum Geology from Aberdeen University.

Zhamal has extensive experience in Upstream Economics and Valuation both as an Equity Analyst and Petroleum Economist. She has previously worked in GMP Securities and Westhouse Securities in the City of London, as well as in ERCE’s London office. Her key skills include corporate and asset valuation, petroleum economics and fiscal regimes, construction of complex oil and gas valuation models in Excel, financial and strategic analysis, extensive knowledge of Upstream Oil & Gas industry and international E&P space. Zhamal holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a B.Sc. in Information Systems (Faculty of Mathematics) from Kazakh National University (Degree with Honours).

She has worked on many projects for various clients, from governments and NOCs to listed oil & gas companies and smaller private businesses all over the world. Zhamal has experience delivering economics for Competent Person’s Reports, arbitrations, evaluations for M&A Due Diligence, and advisory on various economics/commercial aspects of oil & gas businesses. At ERCE, Zhamal is responsible for commercial valuation (from technical to fair market valuation) and growing ERCE’s capabilities in all aspects of economics and valuation to allow the offering of a complete integrated service.

Matteo has joined ERCE in late 2014. In his role as a Head of Reserves & Resources, he is mainly involved in reserves audit work and valuation projects. For the reserves audits, he has worked on UK and East Africa assets at a different scale of maturity. Concerning the valuation projects, he is involved in due-diligence for some of our clients and full portfolio valuation, covering the technical side and supporting the economic team. Matteo has completed detailed studies in the Falkland Island area. He also heads ERCE annual audit of Idemitsu UK and is the lead Reservoir Engineer on our annual Cairn audits.

Glyn Pugh has been with ERCE since its inception and is the Head of Geoscience. Glyn brings extensive experience in the fields of seismic interpretation, velocity modelling, depth conversion and volumetric evaluation. Since joining the industry in 1995, he has worked at Badley Ashton and Lasmo, Equipoise Solutions and ERCE.

Glyn is widely known in the industry for his knowledge of velocity modelling, and lectures on depth conversion at Imperial College London and industry courses. He is well versed in the assessment of structural and reservoir model uncertainty using both multi-deterministic and geostatistical methods honed through exploration, development, audit and equity support/submission/expert roles. Glyn also works with several operators, representing their geophysical interests at partner group meetings through to the international government level.

Glyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Applied Geology (Geophysics) from the University of Glasgow (also awarded the Joseph Black Medal). He also gained a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Geology from Aberdeen University and is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London.

Paul launched ERC Evolution as an internal start-up within the ERCE Group in 2021. He did so in the belief that to achieve climate mitigation ambitions, technical and commercial specialists from all industries must be brought together to collaborate and share knowledge. 

For many years, Paul has been a resources expert, certifying independent studies for the CCS and oil and gas industries. These evaluations are used to communicate risk, uncertainty and potential value to the public and private shareholders, debt providers, pension funds, governments, and other stakeholders. Paul’s work has been used for disclosures on the TSX, LSE, AIM, and Nordic NASDAQ markets. He also served as a testifying expert in arbitration processes regarding technical and commercial disputes.

His work has now expanded into Climate Disclosure where he focuses on innovation to solve the demands of this growing industry that is connecting stakeholders, financial information and climate information.

Paul has enjoyed many years of working with the UK academic community. He has been a visiting lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London, and sat on the advisory board for the EU ShaleXEnvironment research consortium.

He is a Canadian Professional Engineer, registered with APEGA in Canada and a CSA certified GHG emissions verifier and validator. Paul holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge, M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary.

Rouha joins ERC Evolution with over a decade of experience in the steel industry which includes industrial decarbonisation, circular economy, project engineering/management, industrial construction, M&A due diligence and manufacturing. Most recently she represented Tata Steel UK, the largest steelworks and the 2^nd largest GHG emitter in the country, at the South Wales Industrial Cluster (SWIC) for decarbonisation. Previously, she worked in the Netherlands and played a key role is devising the decarbonisation roadmap for Tata Steel Netherlands. Rouha has also managed industrial construction projects. In 2018/19, she led the design and engineering for the multimillion pound Blast Furnace project, which was a critical part of Tata Steel’s long-term strategy to strengthen its operations in the UK.

 A chartered mechanical engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a certified project management associate, Rouha received her MSc from the University of Bath.  In 2020, she completed her Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge. At Cambridge, she researched climate change policies in major European economies to propose ways through which greenhouse gas emissions intensive industries can collaborate to expedite decarbonisation.

Ellen has been with the ERCE group for over 8 years, and joined ERC Evolution when it was formed in 2021. Ellen leads many of ERCE’s projects across our Decarbonisation and Emissions services, and is particularly active in CCS. 

Prior to joining the Evolution division, she was a member of the ERCE Energy geoscience team, where she integrated subsurface data including seismic, structural interpretation, well logs, and literature to construct and interrogate reservoir models from around the world. As a Project Manager within the ERCE Energy audit group, she guided multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outcomes which take into consideration subsurface, facilities, and economic elements.

Ellen holds an MEarthSci from the University of Oxford and is a CSA certified GHG emissions verifier and validator. She is an active participant in the wider geoscience community as a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and has been a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London.

Andrew rejoined ERCE as a Principal in Carbon Capture & Storage at the beginning of January 2024. Prior to this he was working for the UK North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) Carbon Transport and Storage Team. There, he was involved in designing and implementing the UK regulatory system for carbon storage, working on the technical and regulatory Stewardship of active UK carbon storage licences, conducting Early Risk Assessments workshops, and undertaking technical evaluations of license applications. He has been the lead author and collaborated on a number of technical, planning and regulatory Carbon Transport and Storage guidance documents for the UK industry.

He is a Reservoir Engineer by background with experience as a Subsurface Team Lead and has 15+ years’ experience in the oil and gas and CCS industries, working for operators, service companies, and regulators globally. He has in depth technical experience in both analytical and numerical reservoir engineering methods along with operational experience in field developments (reservoir management, drilling, and workovers) as well as reserves audits and expert work in an arbitration.

Alfie has over 25 years’ experience in the petroleum industry and is a Principal Engineer at ERCE. He has worked as a Technical Manager, Reservoir and Petroleum Engineer at both operating companies and with consultancies. He joined ERC Equipoise in 2019 and has undertaken reserves audits, evaluations, M&A due diligence and technical studies. During his career he has been accountable and responsible for asset evaluation, development, production optimisation and reserves assessment in a number of basins.  He has a strong first-hand knowledge in field appraisal and development.

Andy joined ERCE in 2011 and has almost 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. He has been a central part to the velocity modelling, depth conversion and uncertainty analysis group of the company. His experience encompasses standalone depth conversion studies, the volumetric calculation for audit and reserves reporting and as part of integrated field development teams. He also has experience in prospect generation for licence round block evaluation and application and also general block evaluation for acquisition.

Previous experience comprised working on production and engineering issues on a major Iraqi field whilst an independent contractor at BP. Prior to this Andy was responsible for training and advising on the full spectrum of work flows at Seismic Micro Technology. Whilst at Schlumberger he was involved in data management and software support. He gained his initial geosciences training at Scott Pickford where he was involved in data management but also in the creation of regional non-exclusive projects in the North Sea as a Geologist performing wire line interpretation on non-exclusive North Sea Projects.

Dr. Craig Osborne has been with ERCE since its inception, and works as a Principal Reservoir Modeller on our team, specialising in Petrel. Craig started in the petroleum industry in 1997, and in his career has worked for Scott Pickford and Equipoise Solutions.

Craig has worked on projects across the globe including ones based out of Africa, Europe, the FSU and Asia. He has developed Petrel models for use in licensing rounds, Equity Expert Projects and reserves and resource analysis for the stock market and A&D purposes. Craig’s Petrel experience gives him an understanding of the strengths and pitfalls of computer reservoir modelling, which are important when either developing models for clients, or in auditing third party models.

Craig holds a PhD in Geology from Cardiff University, a Master’s of Science in Petroleum Geophysics from Birmingham University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Durham University. He is a member of the PESGB, EAGE and Geological Society of London.

Eoin is a reservoir engineer with over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has worked on oil and gas fields worldwide including the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Oceania and South America for both large multi-national and smaller independent oil and gas operators. He has worked in both technical and leadership roles in subsurface consultancies for the large part of his career. He has a strong background in Reservoir Engineering, specialising in reservoir simulation and integrated asset modelling.

Kathe has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, gained while working for major operators and service companies across the Asia Pacific region. These include Schlumberger, Chevron, Woodside and BHP. She has extensive experience in integrated field development and management, focusing on reservoir characterisation, static modelling, in-place volume assessment, uncertainty assessment, field development planning and well planning / execution. Whilst being an expert in static modelling, Kathe has well-developed complimentary skills in petrophysics, geophysics, reservoir engineering and drilling & completions, and has taught both software and theory courses to hundreds of oil and gas professionals across the Asia Pacific area.

Having worked on a wide variety of small and large projects partnering with companies such as Exxon, Shell, BP, Mitsui, Chevron, Woodside and BHP, Kathe also has accomplished stakeholder and project management skills, ensuring positive outcomes and on-time delivery. Kathe has had the opportunity to live and work around the globe during her energy career and enjoys working with colleagues and clients of diverse cultural and personal backgrounds.

Rhod Phillips is responsible for our Engineering team. Since 1993 he has worked as an Operations and Reservoir Engineer at both large and small Operating companies, joining ERCE after time spent with Amerada Hess, Regal Petroleum and Fairfield Energy.

Rhod has worked on the Reservoir Engineering of brown-field and new developments worldwide. The wide range of projects includes considerable experience in taking data from the dataroom evaluation stage, through detailed review, analytical and numerical Reservoir Engineering studies to economic evaluation and a Reserves position. His experience of presenting the analyses and results to technical, commercial and Board level audiences means he understands the client’s final requirements.

Rhod has been deeply involved with the Reserves reporting at all of the companies he has worked at. He also has extensive, worldwide experience in operational roles supervising wireline logging, well test and completions operations giving important insights into the acquisition and QC of the client’s data.

Rhod holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from University College London, a Masters Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and is a member of the SPE.

Simon McDonald is a founder of ERCE and is a Director of Engineering. Since 1976 Simon has worked as a Petroleum Engineer and Engineering Manager for Shell International Petroleum and Atlantis and has worked in consultancy as Managing Director of the original ERC Resource Consultants in the late 1980s and 1990s, as well as the restart of ERC in 2003.

Simon has been exposed to virtually all reservoir types within Europe, Africa and Asia. He is able to draw upon his experience as a manager in both E&P and consulting companies to identify both causes of concern and solutions to unique and demanding challenges. Field experience from international assignments in Europe and the Arabian Gulf while with Shell, and in the UAE, Oman and Tunisia while Atlantis gives him a practical view of petroleum operations. His experience enables him to bridge the gap between technical and commercial considerations and he has worked extensively for clients as their reporting engineer to banking syndicates, during external financing processes.

Dr Tina Lohr is a specialist in seismic interpretation, regional basin analysis & structural modelling.  Tina is the head of ERCE’s Structural Geology Group and oversees regional to field-scale projects in structurally complex areas.

Tina has extensive experience across many regions globally: ranging from fractured reservoirs in onshore fold-and thrust belts like Kurdistan and Bolivia, and offshore extensional areas like the Levant Basin, East Africa, southern South America, to salt dominated areas like Iran, North Sea and West Africa. Projects with poor or sparse data are challenges she enjoys engaging with by pulling together data from different sources and understanding the regional tectono-stratigraphy to build an integrated and viable structural model. This includes methods like balanced cross section construction, backstripping and fault seal analysis.

Tina is also an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Petroleum Geoscience, reviewer for numerous international journals, and committee member of the Geological Society’s Energy Group. She provides both inhouse and external courses to teach structural geology topics. Tina has published numerous papers in international journals on the Zagros mountains, Falkland Basin, as well as fractured reservoirs and salt tectonics.

Before joining ERCE, Amirah was a Reservoir Engineer at PETRONAS with over 12 years of experience. She has worked on multiple projects focused on the development of both green and brown fields, gained extensive exposure to production operations and surveillance. She has a robust foundation in various aspects of reservoir engineering, including fundamental of rock properties and fluid behaviour, integrated reservoir characterisation, reservoir performance analysis, depletion strategy and drive mechanism, reserves and resources estimation, as well as analytical and numerical simulation. Additionally, Amirah has led significant techno-commercial evaluations, ensuring projects met economic thresholds and exploring ways to maximise returns from a perspective of a reservoir engineer.

Amirah holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London. She was awarded the Chevening Scholarship in 2020.

Rusli Jusoh has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a strong background in Petroleum Engineering, Business Planning and Strategy and Business Development. He has an extensive international experience with a good understanding of diverse cultural and business practices. His last position was the Country Manager for PETRONAS Carigali Oman.

He started his career with PETRONAS 37 years ago as a Reservoir Engineer and continue to hold various portfolios during this period including Head Joint Venture (JV) Department, Executive Assistant to Senior Vice President (SVP) Exploration & Production (E&P), Head Reservoir Engineering, Country Manager for PETRONAS Carigali Myanmar Ltd., Head Petroleum Engineering, Country Manager for PETRONAS Carigali Oman, Head Business Development (Unconventional), PETRONAS and Technical Advisor for PETRONAS International Assets such as Argentina, Azerbaijan, Chad, Cameroon, Algeria, Iraq, Indonesia, Myanmar, Turkmenistan and Brunei.

He holds a Degree in Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Petroleum Engineering from University Technology Malaysia.

Eugenie Regan is VP of Research Solutions at Springer Nature and chair of the board of trustees of Buglife. She holds a Ph.D degree from National University Ireland, an MBA from University of Cambridge, is a Fulbright alumnus, and Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society. Eugenie is a widely respected and published conservation scientist and is the author of more than 40 academic papers including in Science and Nature. Her career has had a particular focus on the application of biodiversity science to policy and decision-making for the private sector, government, and international NGOs. She has developed and managed projects with UN Environment, European Commission, and World Bank, amongst others, in Europe, Africa, and Asia. Projects have included biodiversity offsetting, environmental safeguarding, metrics for the Sustainable Development Goals, and sustainability reporting.

Ajaz Ahmed is currently CFO of Romco Metals. With over 18 years of Finance and Strategy leadership, Ajaz has worked for family offices, been the CFO for a UK entity of the second largest listed Japanese Energy Group, and started his career with PwC. Ajaz graduated MBA from the University of Cambridge, is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and associate member of the Energy Institute.
